Dr. Breck A. Harris received his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University
of La Verne and received his MBA with a concentration in both Marketing and Management
and a B.S. in International Business Management with a Marketing minor from San Francisco
State University, where he graduated summa cum laude. He was honored to receive a graduate business scholarship from the Japanese government
and traveled to Japan to study for a semester at the Boeke Kenshu Center, Institute
for International Studies and Training, located in Fujinomiya Shi, Japan, where he
spent six months in close cultural interaction living with 150 of Japan's top corporate
executives in a dormitory setting. While completing his M.B.A. studies, Dr. Harris
also served as a student intern for a U.S. Senator in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Dr. Harris has extensive teaching experience and has previously taught 37 different
business undergraduate and graduate courses for different community college and university
settings. From 1995 to 2023, he worked as a full-time Professor of Business at Fresno
Pacific University, where he concentrated on teaching a variety of marketing, management,
and leadership courses to traditional, graduate, and degree completion students.
Dr. Harris's previous professional experience includes ten years working in the field
of both sales and marketing related activities for various corporations located in
the San Francisco Bay Area. His professional sales experience includes working four
years as a electrical engineering sales representative for Square D. Corporation,
where he provided training programs for electrical distributor, engineer, and contractor
groups. As part of his responsibilities with Square D. Corporation, Dr. Harris conducted
sales planning and development of a Bay Area territory that generated 4.5 million
in annual sales. He also provided technical, engineering, and service support for
nine electrical distributors that purchased products from Square D. Dr. Harris also
has previous professional work experience as a marketing consultant in both the San
Francisco and Fresno area.
Dr. Harris’s previous research interests includes androgogy, pedagogy, and excellence
in college teaching. His current research interests include learning about social
media marketing.
Dr. Harris has provided contributions to six different published books and previous
publications in several professional journals. Dr. Harris has made 57 previous professional
presentations, workshops, and roundtable presentations for different national and
international conferences and educational settings. Since 2012, he has been a manuscript
reviewer for the Journal of Excellence in College Teaching.
