Ms. Jamie Buettner received her M.A. in Art History from California State University,
                                 Fresno, earning the Dean’s Medal Nomination for the Art Department. She received her
                                 B.S. in Physical Therapy from CSUF, with distinction. This multidisciplinary background
                                 has informed her research and scholarship in the areas of historical manipulation
                                 of human anatomy in paintings and fashion, gender performance in visual art and costume,
                                 reading portraiture through clothing, and disability theory. She is a licensed physical
                                 therapist with 27 years of practice in physical therapy, working with adults, teens,
                                 and children with neurological and orthopedic diagnoses. Her experience includes ownership
                                 and management of private practice, consultation to private industry, and expert witness
                                 testimony. She has served as adjunct faculty in art history for Reedley College and
                                 Madera Community College for 5 years, and has served as adjunct faculty for California
                                 State University, Fresno’s Fashion Merchandising program in History of Costume since
                                 2014. She has volunteered extensively in international medical and economic relief
                                 and as a costume designer for the Fresno Ballet Company. Ms. Buettner has published
                                 in the International Journal of Religion and Spirituality in Society and has presented
                                 papers at numerous international conferences.
