Dr. Ojoung Kwon is a Professor of Computer Information Systems and Chair of the Information Systems and Decision Sciences Department at the California State University-Fresno. He holds a BS and MS in Electronics Engineering and an MBA with an MIS specialization. He received a Ph.D. in Management Science and Artificial Intelligence from the University of Alabama in 1991. Prior to teaching at the Craig School of Business, Dr. Kwon was an associate professor at the University of Illinois-Springfield where he taught for 11 years and developed and delivered four fully online graduate MIS courses (Database, Expert Systems, Decision Support Systems, and Project Management) via UI-Online. Dr. Kwon's teaching and research interests are database management systems, data warehousing and mining, business intelligence and machine learning, and cyber-security. Dr. Kwon has conducted various high-caliber research projects with a number of organizations, including AT&T (NETMAN - Packet Switching Network Management Systems), General Motors (FMS - automated car manufacturing system), Alabama Power Company (DISCOVER - Fleet maintenance system), Amdahl Communications (network troubleshooting system), Illinois Division of Oral Health (VMS - virtual meeting systems), US Department of Transportation (virtual collaborative environment), Administrative Office of Illinois Courts (POLARIS - Data Warehouse for probation case management), and Strategic Missile Commander (MICOM - Star Wars game). He invented one of the first virtual meeting systems, CyberCollaboratory, with two research partners in 1998. He has numerous publications and presentations; received many grants, fellowships, and awards; and is listed in the Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in America, and Who's Who in Science and Technology. He also served on many boards and committees in private, public, and academic organizations.
