Dr. King has a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Michigan State University.
He worked as a Staff Psychologist with The Standard Oil Company (Ohio), where he completed
several major research projects and was promoted to Manager of Personnel Development.
He left Standard Oil in 1986 for a Corporate Human Resources position with Holiday
Corporation. In 1990, he took a senior human resource position with Taco Bell, leaving
in 1992 to become the Vice President, Human Resources for Chiron Vision, a start-up
Medical Device company. He moved to France in 1996 as Director, European Administration,
staying in this position until the company was sold to Bausch & Lomb in late 1997.
Until he retired, he worked in a senior Human Resources for Dole Packaged Foods. Following
retirement in 2018, he has served as a faculty member in the Departments of Information
Systems and Decision Sciences and Management at the Craig School of Business, CSU,
Fresno.
