Craig School of Business

Message from the Director

It is not surprising to hear that 2020 has been quite interesting, to say the least.  It has been ten months since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and as a result, multiple layers of economic, political and social issues continue to accumulate.  Further, the clouds of dust and smoke from the wildfires and the extreme heat during this summer scourged our skies and land for weeks.  Soon we will turn the page on this 2020, and hopefully, new winds of change will bring much needed relief.

This Fall 2020 semester, the Gazarian Real Estate Center moved to hosting events via Zoom.  We created a series of presentations to provide our members with relevant information on various real estate topics.  First, we invited Dr. Jon Haveman, from the National Economic Education Delegation, to present on the economics of COVID-19 and its impact on real estate markets.  We then hosted Preston Price, President/CEO of Fresno Housing, to present their efforts to create and manage quality affordable housing for low-income households in the Central Valley.  Lastly, Robin Kane, Senior Vice-President at The Mogharebi Group, provided an update on the current state of commercial real estate.  We would like to thank our presenters and attendees for their participation and continued support.  Our events were well attended and rated.

Next semester, we plan to increase our presence in our social media platforms.  We hope that you follow us on Twitter (@GazarianCenter), Facebook (@GazarianCenter), Instagram, and LinkedIn.  We would like to hear from you about the kind of news, reports, and information you would like us to post.  If you’d like to share your thoughts, please feel free to email us at gazarian@mail.fresnostate.edu.  We’d be happy to share your news and postings.  We will also be hosting our usual speaker presentation, so please stay tuned!

We hope that you have a wonderful holiday season and that everybody stays healthy and safe.

Sincerely,

Andres Jauregui (AJ)

Director
