Launch Event April 26: Empower Her 2024

Fresno State Women's Basketball Head Coach Jaime White

Fresno State women’s basketball head coach Jaime White will be the keynote speaker at Empower Her 2024, a networking and discussion event on gender in business leadership, on April 26 from 2 to 4 p.m., at the new executive classroom, MBA @ Campus Pointe (3006 E. Campus Pointe Dr.).

White will speak on the challenges faced by female leaders and the opportunities for young women to pursue leadership positions in business, athletics and other fields.

Empower Her 2024 is the first event produced by the Craig School of Business’s new Gender and Leadership (G.A.L) program, which will prepare students to manage and overcome gender disparities in the workplace. In addition to White’s keynote address, the event will include breakout discussion groups, opportunities for students to network with business professionals and information on how students can apply for the first G.A.L Cohort starting in fall 2024.

The event is free and open to the public, and parking is free in Campus Pointe lots. Business professionals and Fresno State students interested in addressing gender disparities in the workplace are encouraged to attend. No registration is required, but you can enter our free prize drawing! Winners will be selected at Empower Her.

G.A.L. Mission Statement

The Gender and Leadership Program prepares students to navigate the challenges associated with being an underrepresented gender in business leadership positions and offer creative solutions and support for students to prepare for advancement into such positions.

G.A.L. Vision Statement

The Gender and  Leadership Program will become a leadership guidance resource to prepare students to tackle gender disparities in the workplace. The long-term goal will be to grow the workshop into a full fledged program in the Craig School of Business with the intent to scale this program to include other disciplines across campus with underserved leadership representation.
